Maybe you started off as a CPC (close proximity couple) then one of you had to move 2. Or you may have met when one of you were on holiday somewhere new 3. Of course, these days the romance usually starts online, so perhaps you’ve never physically met. But none of that matters, coz whatever the reason, you’ll both need to look inside yourselves and be sure that you’re ready to deal with this level of commitment. If you’ve been tempted to stray while you were still in the same town, chances are you’re not ready. However, if you can’t see yourself with anyone but them, here’s a list of factors to keep you positive, and remind you that this is very much worth the wait.

  1. It’s going to be 2 years soon. We see each other as often as possible, and will be together next weekend. It’s going pretty well, and I’m hoping that we live together soon.

  2. Yes, at first it was OK, but then it went downhill faster than I had anticipated. This was my husband of 21 years, not just some flight by night relationship.

  3. I was with my boyfriend who lived in Plymouth (about 6 hours bus ride from where I live) for around 1 year. We didn’t break up due to the distance, it was because he couldn’t handle the fact he couldn’t get sex when he wanted so he ended up cheating repeatedly. I would say don’t get into a LDR unless you have been with the person for a while. Enough time to establish trust and stability, otherwise you could end up getting hurt.
